Toes in the Water

After months of planning, dreaming, and waiting, the day finally arrived. We were heading to the Dominican Republic for a week full of surf, sand and sun! And the best part is that we are without kids! Don't get me wrong I love my kiddos, but I love them even more after a week of relaxing and rejuvenation!

We drove to Utah from Carson City, dropped the kids with the grandmas, picked up Josh and Johanna and took off!

After a few long hours on planes and in airports we landed in the tropical paradise that is the Dominican Republic! Matt visited there a few years ago on a dental humanitarian trip and has been aching to go back ever since. All I can say is beautiful! The sand, the ocean and the resort were perfect! We did a whole lot of nothing, which was just what we wanted. We were worried about the weather a little bit when we first arrived. It was a overcast and a little rainy. After all is said and done, the rain was a welcome relief. It would rain, cool things off and then return to gorgeous all within an hour. The people of the Dominican Republic were some of the nicest people I have ever met. They were happy, hospitable and helpful all the time!

It was an amazing way to celebrate 15 years with each other. I could not have asked for a better vacation or a better person to spend it with! I cannot wait to go back!

Crazy Tall vines were growing up the sides of everything

Matt and Josh found some coconuts and of course had to split them open and eat

This mango tree was right outside our room

Heading home, so sad!
