Back to School

This year marks a new era in the Schofield home. All four kids are in school all day. We decided to put Ava in all day Kindergarten. She gets so bored at home with just me. She hates errands and does not like having to go to the office when I need to. It is crazy to think that I will not have a little person with me during the day. It has been 14 years since I have had that!

Austin 8th grade. Last year of Middle School.
 Sami 2nd Grade
 Ava Kindergarten
Easton 5th Grade. Last year in Elementary School
Even with their stupid uniforms, they still look pretty cute!

Saving Grace

We have often said that Lake Tahoe is the saving grace to living in Carson City. It is absolutely breathtaking. We love that we can be to the beach in 25 minutes. We spend as much time as we can there during the summer.  We are blessed to so close to such a beautiful place.

Hot August Nights

The boys heard that a vintage Chevy Chevelle was being raffled off at the Hot August Nights car show in South Lake Tahoe. We decided to go and check it out. It was super hot, but we had a lot of fun. Everybody got to pick their favorite car. The car that Easton picked ended up being auctioned off for $45,000!

I Can Do Hard Things

Austin had a crazy busy summer this year. He was able to go on two Boy Scout camps back to back. Matt was taking the older boys on a 25 mile backpacking trip tot the Hoover Wilderness. Because Austin is the only boy his age, and he is almost done with his Eagle, he was allowed to go with them.

After a lot of conflict, questions and wondering if the boys could handle this trip, Matt pulled it off. The boys all did an amazing job and had a fantastic time. It was great to hear their testimonies when they got back home. They did something hard, and they were proud of themselves. I am glad the Austin has Matt not just as a father, but as a YM leader as well. Matt is not afraid to push the boys a little beyond their limits. By doing this, they were all able to grow and accomplish something difficult.
