Small Blessings

Ava has always been my shy child. She had a hard time letting go and being OK with pre-school. Thanks to some wonderful teachers and a sweet new best friend, I think that we could count this first and last year of pre-school a success.

Mothers Day Picnic

Ava had a Mothers Day Picnic at her pre-school, Small Blessings. She was so excited for me to come and have "tea" with her. She made me a hat to wear out of a coffee filter. She loved it so much that she wanted to wear it!

Track

Austin ran track for Carson Middle School this Spring. He really took to the hurdles. By the end of the season he was doing pretty well. Hopefully this is something that he will continue to pursue and enjoy!

NJHS

Austin was inducted into the National Junior Honor Society tonight. We are really proud of him and all of his accomplishments. I truly admire him and his desire and effort to succeed in school. That attitude will take him far!

Celebrate

This past weekend we took another trip to Utah (2nd in 3 weeks). We went in for a birthday celebration weekend. The adults in Matt's family went to Heber to spend the night at the Homestead. Becky turned 60 a few weeks ago and we also had Josie, Jake, Tom and Matt's birthdays as well. We had a great time being back with everyone. We are tired of always missing things, so we decided to make the trip.
We spent a lot of time chatting, eating, playing on the pool and riding Pete and Merr's scooters around town. It was fun to be able to reconnect and spend time with Matt's siblings without having to worry about the kiddos for a while!

Happy Birthday Sami Rose

Sami was so excited to be in Utah for her birthday. We had a great BBQ at Grandma Marsha's house. Sami is an intense little 7 year old. She loves to read and she is currently writing her first novel. She has journals full of her ideas and stories. She has a great imagination and loves to express herself. Sami still gives us a run for our money and makes us question our parenting skills on a daily basis. Her personality is definitely one that needs to be experienced to fully understand. I love the way that she throws herself into what ever she is doing at full force. I just hope that I can keep her guided in the right direction! Happy #7 Samantha Rose. Our family would not be the same, or as loud, without you!

Horse Trough

When Matt and I were young, growing up in American Fork, we always loved to stop at the horse trough by Easton Browns house to get a drink. Since having kids, they all enjoy checking it on each trip to Utah to see if it is running. For quite a few years it was not running. On our last trip to Utah we noticed that it was flowing again. The boys insisted that we stop and taste the "best water ever!"
