Thanksgiving

Josh and Johanna and their kids came to visit for Thanksgiving. We always have a great time when they come and see us. Matt and Josh spend hours working and babying the turkey, Johanna and I spend hours preparing everything else and then we all spend about 20 minutes scarfing it down! 

We also went to the Carson Hot Springs Pools. They are outdoor pools and hot tubs warmed by natural hot springs. It was fun to be swimming when it was freezing outside!

Of course we also hit all of the stores for Black Friday and scored a lot of great deals. We love having family come and can't wait for the next visit!

Family Pics

You would think that I was asking my family to cut of one of their limbs when I mention that it is family picture time. It always turns into a fight, and a major production. After everyone realizes that it is really not that big of a deal, and the less they fight the quicker it ends, we actually end up with some cute pictures!

Happy Birthday

 Austin is now fully immersed in the teenage years. At 14 he now has the typical teenage attitude down to a science! All kidding aside, Austin is a pretty good kid. He is very dedicated and concerned about his future and his education. He loves to spend time with his dad and Easton. He enjoys being outside, trapping, shooting and overall messing around. He is starting to gain his testimony and it is exciting to see that he has a desire to do what is right. He can certainly be a pest to his siblings, but I know that he would always have their backs if it came right down to it.

We took Austin and some friends to dinner at In-N-Out and then to see the movie, "The Dark Knight."

Happy 14th Austin!

About a month a go Matt took Austin with him to a Varsity Shotgun Shoot that Matt had to help with. Austin ended up winning 3 place in the competition. He was competing against 16 year olds. We decided to get him and Easton a shotgun for their birthdays. They both have really started to enjoy shooting with Matt. This gives them something that they can do together and be outside at the same time!

Trick or Treat?

This year we treated Halloween a little bit different. The kids had a great time at the ward Trunk or Treat and got WAY to much candy. We decided to forgo Trick or Treating and we went to dinner and a movie instead. We invited some friends, who are as anti-Halloween as we are, and we had a great time! This might be our new tradition!

Soccer Stars!

We had three kids playing soccer this season. Needless to say, between up to 5 practices and 4 games a week, it was very busy! Easton's team traveled to Lake Tahoe a lot to play, which I have to say is one of the prettiest places ever to play soccer! He had a fantastic coach this season and was on a team with one of his best friends. He really improved his game this year.

The girls did an amazing job as well. Sami improved so much from last season. She actually knew that she was supposed to run after the ball! She scored quite a few goals as well.

Ava was so fun to watch. For being a shy, little squirt, she was actually very aggressive! She was on a great team with her best friend, Dahlia, and a few other girls from school. She loved it and can not wait to play again in the Spring.
