St. George

Last weekend we took a quick weekend trip to St. George with Jason, Suzanne and Teaghan Vaira. We had a great time hanging out, swimming, eating at the Pizza Factory and shopping. We happened to be there the same time that the Ironman was happening. We hung out at the bike to run change station for a while. It was exciting to watch the athletes and admire their strength and endurance.
It was great to be able to spend some time with the Vairas. After graduation who knows when the next time will be when we are able to get together again.

Pick on Austin Day

Austin (bless his heart) has a tendency to be a pest. Especially towards his little sister Sami. Sami and Austin have a hard time getting along. They are both very similar and think that they are always right and in charge. I have no idea where that ideology came from! Austin was on a bugging rampage and Matt had had enough. He decided that they next day would be "pick on Austin day." Sami and Matt devised a plan and as soon as Austin came home from school it was set into motion. A princess crown was made, dress up clothes picked out and things were set. Austin had to wear his punishment through dinner. He was less than thrilled! Hopefully he will realize that it is not always fun to be the object of teasing!

Awards

The boys received Academic Awards for their grades this past semester. Easton was beyond excited that he recieved all A's this time. He put forth a lot of effort and tried really hard, and it paid off. Austin did amazing as well and recieved all A's as well. They are both great boys and we are very proud of them. Way to go you two!

Last Day!

After four long years it is finally over. Matt had his last day at UNLV School of Dental Medicine. It's a little surreal to think that it's really over. For the last four years we have had people telling us what do and how to do it, now "real" life starts again. It has been an amazing journey to get where we are now; long, emotional, stressful and at times difficult. We never planned for our lives to take the path that it they did, but we made the best of it. Looking back though, I would not change anything. The lessons that we learned and the trials that we went through only made our family stronger. I am so proud of Matt and everything that he has accomplished. Now we just need to figure out the rest of our lives!

3rd Birthday Party

Matt asked Ava what she wanted to do for her birthday. She was insistent that we go to Red Robin for dinner. How could we say no to the birthday girl? We took her to dinner and then to Build A Bear to use her gift card from Grandma. We went to dinner the night before her actual birthday and she was a little confused at what we were doing. She was also upset that we were not taking her presents to the restaurant. She thought that she was having her party there.

The next day Sami had a dance performance, so we did presents in the morning and cake in the evening when we got back home. Ava was looking so forward to her special day! She had been counting down for weeks. Hopefully she was not dissapointed!

Clark County Fair

Sami danced at the Clark County Fair again this year. This was the first time that Matt was able to join us now that he no longer has finals!! After the two hour drive and the non -stop wind, we ended up staying there for just a few hours. Sami did such a great job. She loves to dance, perform, and be the center of attention. It was a fun time even with the incessant wind!

Spring Break

We headed up to Utah for Spring Break. We left our nice beautiful weather and were welcomed with this..... Snow!?! for Spring Break it's just not right. Besides freezing we still had a good time. While we were there we enjoyed.........

plenty of trampoline time,

harrowing the horse pastures for grandpa,

endless hours of piano "playing,"

the Children's Museum and Plantarium,

countless trips through the "forest" on the way to grandma Beck Becks house,

Dyed Easter eggs with Great-Grandma Mary

participated in multiple egg hunts,

helped Grandpa at the barn,

roasted a few hot dogs and peeps,

"watched" General Conference,

and played with the baby chicks!

After all was said and done we had a great time as always!
