New Moon

I was able to go to an amazing event for the release of New Moon. We had a private theatre, dinner, refreshments and gift bags. It was a great time. The movie was good, but the friends and company were even better. Hopefully I will still be here when the next movie comes out, who knows where we will be in June next year!

Football

2 boys + 4 practices a week + 2 games on Saturdays = 1 worn out mom and 2 excited boys

We have finally reached the end of flag football season, and what a season it was!

Way to go boys! You two had a great season. Only three more months until we start all over again!

7 Tunnels Hike

We took the kids on a hike the other day in Boulder City. Easton called it a walk and not a hike, but that is besides the point. We walked along the old railroad routes that were used during the building of the Dam. We had a great time and enjoyed a tasty lunch at The Pit Stop (the best hometown little burger joint). Jason, Suzanne and Teaghan Vaira came with us. We love when Matt has days off from school that we are able to spend together. Next time I will have to find a real hike to satisfy Easton.

Disneyland!

We spent a few days in California with my family a few weeks ago. This was the first time in a LONG time that all of my siblings have been together on a vacation. We stayed in beautiful Newport Beach. We celebrated birthdays, tried to squeeze in a few family pictures before the sun set,
and spent three fabulous days at the "Happiest Place on Earth!"

We rode the tea cups (five times), Grizzly Falls (at least seven times), Tower of Terror (Sami twice, the rest of us once was enough!), Splash Mountain and Pirates of the Caribbean (too many to count), met a few princesses, danced with Mary Poppins, and ate endless churros! What a great trip! Thanks mom and dad, we had an amazing time with grandparents and cousins!

We spent our last day at the beach. Sand, sea-shells, Ruby's Diner, and Ava's first trip to the ocean! What could be better?

Happy Birthday Austin!

My oldest child is now 11 years old. It is a surreal feeling when your first born gets older. He is the one that made me a mother. He is the one that transformed us from a couple, to a family. He is the first one that we make mistakes with, and the first one to reach the milestones in life. My worries start with him and I wonder what he will experience in his life. Will he be strong enough? Will he be the example that his siblings need? Different roles and expectations come with being the "first baby" as Sami puts it. Austin brings a lot of joy and happiness to our family. I am so thankful that he is my "first baby." Happy Birthday Austin, we love you.

We were lucky enough to be in California to celebrate with all of our family.

** My birthday happened while we were there as well, but there is no need to dwell on that!
