Both Matt and Sami celebrated their birthdays last week. Matt is not much for pomp and circumstance, so needless to say there was only a small amount of celebration for his day.
Sami on the other hand loves to be the center of attention and had the entire day planned out. She wanted to go hiking and use the new Camelbak that she got for Christmas. We set out for Spooner Lake to hike around for a while before going to dinner.
When we drove into Spooner to park we saw that there was still snow on the ground. I know that it is early May, but I guess I just didn't think that there would be snow. We talked about heading back to Carson to hike C-hill, but Sami wanted to go to dinner at the Snowflake Drive In that is in South Tahoe so we didn't want to drive back down to the valley and then back up.
We drove back down the canyon a little bit and found a different trail that had less snow. We unloaded, filled our Camelbak's and set out.
Sami loves to be in the outdoors and she hikes with the best of them. After we hiked for about an hour and a half, we headed to the Snowflake for dinner. It is a great little dive with greasy burgers, salty fries and thick shakes. We love it!
Sami is her own personality and definitively knows what she wants. The word that perfectly describes her is INTENSE. She knows exactly what she wants and how to go get it. I love that she is strong willed and determined, but I hope and pray that I can stear her in the right direction. Happy Birthday Sami Girl! We love you, sass and all!
