Happy Birthday

I am officially the mother of a teenager! Austin is turned 13 on November 3, 2011. I know that it is cliche, but the time has really flown by. I cannot believe that he is 13 now! Austin is still a very serious and studios person. He has lofty goals for himself and know what he needs to do to achieve them. I am very proud of the person that he is becoming!

I also had a birthday, but there is no need to dwell on that fact!

Happy Birthday Austin!

Halloween

This Halloween we went to the Historic part of Carson City to go Trick or Treating. The area around Mountain street is amazing. The city closes the streets and theGovernor and his wife hand out candy. The kids had a great time and came home with loads of CANDY!

North Carolina

Football,
Alone time with dad,
No sisters,
3 days of missed school,
What more could a boy ask for?

Matt and the boys flew back to North Carolina to watch McKay play football at North Carolina State. McKay is my cousin and has always been such a kind, strong and an amazing example to my boys.
Austin and Easton loved:
watching the football game,
watching the American Idol winner, Scotty McCreery, sing the National Anthem,
shopping in the NC State bookstore,
body surfing at the beach
and
being amazed at all of the trees in North Carolina!

Upon his return Easton wrote a story about the greatest gift that he had ever received. He wrote about the gift of a special trip with his dad and brother!

Tooth Fairy

Sami is thrilled to have a visit from the tooth fairy, FINALLY! Her front permanent teeth were coming in behind her baby teeth. They were not getting loose on their own, so with a little help from Dr. Dad they were taken care of. She was even more excited when the tooth fairy left more money because they had to be pulled out!

San Francisco

Matt had a dental conference in San Francisco last weekend. He was taking his assistant with him, and so I needed to go to keep things kosher! We flew my mom in and we set out on the 3 hour drive. Matt was going to be in classes all weekend and I was going to be on my own. Yea for me, my good friend Kelly from Henderson decided to fly up and spend the weekend with me. I was so excited. It was a perfect girls weekend. Matt was able to meet us for dinner and walk around at night.
Kelly and I had an amazing time! We spent a lot of time walking, talking and catching up. When ever we get back together it seems as if we were never apart. We went to the Fisherman's Warf, Lombard Street, Ghirardelli square, rode the trolley, was squashed on a bus in China Town with about 100 Asian people and rode bikes across the Golden Gate Bridge (which was AMAZING!)

We ate a lot of good food and had a great time just catching up. Matt said he was bummed that he did not get to see more of the city. I guess we will need to take another trip!

I was the designated map reader of our duo!

Labor Day

This Labor Day we decided to take one last beach trip to Lake Tahoe. The morning started out a little cold (we were in jackets) but warmed up nicely. We spent the day with some good friends and had a lot of fun. We rented a kayak, paddle board and a paddle boat. We love Lake Tahoe and especially love that it is close to home!
